I am delighted that the Lutheran Witness Reporter did a front-page story about our current health care debates. This resulted in a nice conversation with Marggie Karner, Life and Health Ministries Director. One important piece emerged in our talk. “Accessible, affordable health care is a moral issue.”

Some thoughts on Reformation and the mission of the Ohio District

The Mission of the Church has been an important focus for me for many years. Recently, the subject has come into renewed focus thanks in part to Dr. Robert Newton’s paper at the 2008 theological convocations.

One of the hot topics of past LCMS stewardship meetings was the difference between “giving from” and “giving to.”

When the Ohio District webmaster invited me to add a blog to the District’s website, I quickly checked Wikipedia. That site reports that by 12/07 112 million blogs were in some form of existence. Now, two years later with how many more floating around, is it possible for another to be of any possible value? In a word, loyalty won out even in the face of such odds.
