The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. Psalm 24:1
With an awesome sense of gratitude, responsibility, and joy, we take these words to heart in our work as educators and in all aspects of our lives! As Lutheran educators of the Ohio District gather in October, we focus on our stewardship of this creation, including the world and the people God chooses to place in our lives.
We are blessed to begin our conference with a worship service hosted by Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church.
The worship service will be followed by our keynote speaker, Eric Jensen. He is a highly respected expert and author on the topic of brain research and how it applies to teaching. You will learn about your students and yourself and ways to be the best stewards of the brain that God has made so central to all we do. Consider reading Teaching with the Brain in Mind as an introduction to Eric Jensen’s work.
The remainder of the conference is packed with a wide variety of sectionals, a banquet for all participants, a helpful vendor area, and time for fellowship and making connections with colleagues.
Please also note that part of Thursday is divided in two tracks to offer specific topics for teachers of different age groups. In particular, early childhood participants are invited to two early education specific sessions during the last Eric Jensen session which is directed more toward elementary and middle school teachers.
