Youth Ministry Theme and Dates for 2008 - 09
Our Ohio District Youth Ministry Team met June 18th for a planning and visioning session. During that meeting the YMT developed the theme that will be used during all the 2008 -09 events in our District. Click here for details.
Yo Ho! Yo Ho! A Christian's Life for Me! will be the overall theme. When discussing and developing the theme, pirates came into the discussion (of course with a theme coming into mind such as this!) With pirates in mind, the discussion turned to coveting and treasures. There are two passages from Scripture that will lend support to this theme: Exodus 20:17, the command to not covet anything belonging to our neighbor and 1 Timothy 6:18 & 19, where the directive is given to live a God-pleasing life so that "they may take hold of the life that is truly life" . . . the treasure of eternal life in heaven!
The dates for the 2008 - 09 Ohio District Gatherings are:
The Senior High Youth Gathering, November 21 - 23 at the Marriott Northwest in Dublin
Junior High Gathering I in Cincinnati, March 6 - 8
Junior High Gathering II at Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron, March 13 - 15.
The Youth Ministry Team is pleased to announce that the rate will remain $150 per person. (The exceptions will be when special housing requests are made. Each congregation will be responsible to pay the difference.)
The Senior High Gathering will welcome Tiffany Thompson as the keynote presenter and The Crew as the Gathering band.
Each Junior High Gathering will host Bob Lenz as the keynote presenter and Lost and Found as the Gathering Band.
