The Ohio District welcomed 58 willing workers from Ohio District congregations, Michigan and Indiana thanks to the coordination through the LCMS Youth Ministry Office and the Ohio District Youth Ministry Team.

The Ohio District Servant Event is an annual event held during the last full week in June. The dates for 2009 are: June 21 - 27. The estimated cost will be $125 per person. For more information contact Karen Dutton (800) 901-2297 ext. 23.

	Mary Woodward of Lutheran Social Services stands beside shower trailer. This trailer was built and used in the restoration areas in Mississippi and New Orleans and is now in place at the Lutheran Social Services in Caldwell, Ohio. Here it will be used for participants as the work during Servant Events. The trailer can be moved to sites as needed.
	Partial funding for the shower trailer was provided by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
	Pastor Jim Gau (Our Savior, Newark, Ohio) headed up the Servant Event for the Ohio District Servant Event Week. He lead in coordinating work crews, sites, daily schedules and worship.
	The workers applied trim in a bathroom, took down walls and added insulation in a trailer/home. Qualified workers cut ceramic tile to install in a handicapped bathroom at the Lutheran Social Services Distribution Center in Caldwell, Ohio.
	Bags of clothing were loaded on a semi truck to be taken to other sites for distribution. Teen participants sort through school supplies. Shelves were erected and painted. Later in the week household items and buckets with cleaning supplies for families who've been devastated by disaster.
