2008 Junior High Gatherings - what an overwhelming, awesome experience!

2008 is the first time in the history of the Ohio District Jr. High Youth Gathering that a blizzard was cause for concern in traveling as well as an awesome opportunity to come together to praise and glorify God!
Members of St. Paul,
Westlake take time for this outdoor memory!

With over 1500 hands working busily during the 2 Gatherings, over 190 blankets were made. These were taken by the youth groups of Ohio District congregations to be given to the homeless as well as those in shelters and homes.

Dan Scharnhorst of the Riverside Bible Camp in Iowa shared his true-life stories with the youth as he told of how God continually walks beside his children.
The Ohio District Youth Ministry Team (YMT) is actively involved in leading throughout the Gathering. . . they also help to make our young attendees feel welcomed!
Buckman Page a group of five young men who are students at Valparaiso University lead sing alongs thoughout the Gathering as well as sharing some of the songs that they have written. . . all testimonies of faith!
FISH OUT OF WATER, one of the ministry drama teams of Concordia University, Chicago, has had a long time relationship with our Ohio District Jr. High Gatherings. They lead our youth in Bible study using skits, Scripture readings and discussion.
We are thankful that all were safe in their travels to both of the 2008 Ohio District Jr. High Gatherings. This can be especially said of JHG II at Sawmill where over 600 of the 750 trekked through blizzard conditions to be together at this year's event.
The 2009 Jr. High Gathering dates are: March 6, 7 & 8 and March 13, 14 & 15. See YOU there!
