The Rev. Dr. Kevin Wilson of Marysville, Ohio was elected to his first term as President of the LCMS Ohio District at the District's 22nd Convention, June 28-29, 2018 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Rev. Wilson, who was elected on the fourth ballot, succeeds Rev. Terry Cripe, retiring after four terms.

Rev. Wilson has served the past twelve years on the Ohio District staff, initially as a Mission and Ministry Facilitator and recently as the Executive Director of Mission and Ministry. He previously served as a Pastor and Missionary-at-Large in Kansas and Arizona. Rev. Wilson is the first president elected from the District's southern regions and the first Ohio District staff member elected as District President.

There is a two-month transition time between presidents. In July and August, Rev. Cripe will wrap up his duties as President and orient Rev. Wilson to the role. Meanwhile, Rev. Wilson will transition out of his duties as Executive Director.  Rev. Wilson formally starts serving as President on September 1, 2018.
