Either you don't have a TV, radio, or internet access, or you have been doing a Rip Van Winkle if you haven't heard about the terrible hurricane devastation in Texas.

What can we do living so far away from that disaster? I encourage you to be generous with your money. You can give directly to LCMS Disaster Relief by going here:

For an Ohio District touch, you can also give through HARP ministries, a Recognized Service Organization of the LCMS. Go here if you wish to use that venue  A semitruck loaded with supplies is already on its way, but they can always use more help. For updated information or to volunteer, call Mary Bates at (740) 509-1132 .

Besides personal donations, I would also encourage our congregations to hold door offerings for the next month, and of course, regular prayers for those whose lives have been turned upside down because of the storm's intensity. The clean-up and restoration is going to tax the patience of residence and workers alike for a very long time. Pray for the various government workers as well.

Yours in Christ,
Ohio District President Terry Cripe
